5. A friend who also applied to the University of Chicago told me that, according to an admissions officer he had called last week, decisions would come out "early this week." Since nothing came about on Monday, we were sure it must be Tuesday.
Rushing home yesterday and spending the afternoon stalking my inbox? Completely anti-climactic.
4. I did learn something out of this, though. I was tired, and dozed off for several minutes while waiting. I napped most uncomfortably for a while, then woke up to realize my foot had fallen asleep. Then, for whatever strange reason, I decided to get up and make my dinner. I wasn't three steps away from the desk when my foot just completely gave way under me and I fell over. I sort of wish somebody had been there to see it, because then I would have someone to laugh with. I'm sure it looked hilarious. Even though the feeling of Numb Foot was horrible and I had to go crawl on my knees to my next destination.
3. On a related note, I was climbing some stairs today at school, and the girl behind me tripped and fell. But she couldn't be contented with merely falling forward - no, she actually
grabbed my ankles and very nearly brought me down backwards with her. I kind of brushed off her apology and said, "It's fine," but when I looked down at her initially, I'm sure my facial expression conveyed exactly what I was thinking:
"Dude, WTF?"2. Obsessively checked UChicago's Admissions blog today around noon. There was a new post telling everyone not to worry so much, because "we need time to give each application our full attention, so it's actually better for you in the long run if you relax and know that decisions will be released on or around April 1.
"You will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to retrieve your decision. You will also be mailed a decision notification letter."
IN OTHER WORDS, LIKE, TODAY AT SAY, 4:30 PM. LOL, WELL PLAYED, YOU SLY BASTARDS. WELL PLAYED.

UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO: ACCEPTED!And that is really all I have to say right now. It's still completely up in the air whether I'll attend (omgomgomg) because they haven't shown me any financial aid. Hopefully I'll get word as early as tomorrow... I already know I didn't get any kind merit scholarship (except possibly National Merit which is what, $2K?), but as far as need-based aid goes, I
am practically destitute. Please - sdlfkajs;lfkdjaklfsdja - just give me enough money to attend and comfortably move on to med/grad school from there!
